Obituary for Ernie Bill Van Alstine

Ernie Bill Van Alstine, 65, longtime Duncan resident and businessman passed away on February 20th at his home in Duncan. A memorial service will be held 10:00 AM, Monday, February27th at the First Christian Church with Rev. Arnold Nelson officiating. There will be visitation with the family at 11:00 AM. The funeral procession will leave the church at 12:45 PM. Committal Ceremony with military honors will be 2:00 PM Monday in Ft Sill National Cemetery at Elgin, OK. Bill was born January 15, 1947 at Upland, CA to Ernest S. & Joy (Walker) Van Alstine. He was a 1965 graduate of Duncan High School and a 1970 graduate of Oklahoma State University. Bill proudly served in the US Marine Corps from ’70 to ’75 as a CH-53 pilot. He married Jacqueline Karen Morgan on May 28, 1967 in Duncan. In 1976, Bill established Van & Company, LLC a Geothermal Heat & Air Company. He enjoyed exercising, golf, OSU Football, traveling and his family. Bill is survived by his wife Jackie of the home. Two daughters Shelle Field & husband John of Desoto, KS and Heather Nealis & husband Mark of Owasso, OK. One brother Phil Van Alstine of Mobile, AL, two sisters Linda Wible and Sharon Van Alstine both of Alvin, TX. Seven grandchildren Madeline Field, Dawson Field, Emma Nealis, Morgan Nealis, Elizabeth Nealis, Peyton Nealis, Caleb Nealis. Bill was preceded in death by his parents Ernest & Joy Van Alstine. Honorary bearers will be Larry Albin, Ray Bayliff, Mickey Schulte, Geary Heilman, Dennis Buchanan, John Field, Mark Nealis, Larry Paschall, Charles Bronaugh , Mike Nelson, Jeremy Pollock, Lee Wible. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Chisholm Trail Hospice PO Box 2000 Duncan, OK 73534 OR MD Anderson Cancer Center.
